David Risley recently began blogging at DavidRisley.com, which has all the makings of becoming one of the top blogs in the internet marketing industry. However before David began blogging, he spent over 10 years fostering his PCMech website, which began as a hobby to indulge in his passion for computers and technology, and today is a thriving content site and membership service.
In 2008 David generated over $140,000 and that was the third year running he’s made six figures plus, so he’s not new to success online. In this interview we learn how David got his start, how he grew his website, how he makes money from the sites he runs and what he’s doing today with his blog.

I have just recently started following David Risley and I really like his stuff. I love reading about people who have been extremely successful online. It gives me something to work towards. Keep on bringing these interviews, because they definitely give us Blog Mastermind Students some inspiration 🙂
I was just looking on iTunes and couldn’t find an actual Entrepreneurs Journey podcast on there, you should look into getting it listed on there if you haven’t already. If it is on there already how can I find it?
Thanks Yaro, that was a great interview. David really has some good articles on his site (how to market with StumbleUpon) that I’m glad I discovered.
I’m also impressed how pcmech.com is strictly focused on electronics. It’s really tempting when starting a blog to tie in everything about one’s life to the blog and dilute what it’s all about.
Another great interview…it’s funny how David talked about those specific plugins as I already had most installed and looked into WP-Greenbox and Flickr Photos a few hours earlier.
Congrats David and keep up the great work!
Isn’t it WP-greetbox? I also misheard and searched for greenbox but found none. Here’s the link to the plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-greet-box/
BTW, great interview, Yaro…as always 😉
Oops, actually, I misspelled on accident lol…I knew it was greet, but must have hurried my comment 🙂
I was looking for “green box” and later I found out that it was “greet-box”. So that’s why I wasn’t seeing it.
Anyway, I like the plugin he mentioned (yet another related post). I might try that one of these days.
Thanks for another great resource! I just downloaded it to a CD so I can listen in the car since that’s where I live! Just kidding…but I might as well get an education while I’m driving all over the place.
I think it is ok to read something and then write about it in your blog, but that may look a bit fake. Unless you really apply what you read in a book or somewhere else and then write about your own experience.
Looking forward to listening over the weekend. 🙂
Yes, read and then write but how much better if you can point out how what you read changed your experience. Now that is powerful blog marketing approach!
Great interview Yaro. Keep them coming! Interesting to hear how PCMech grew over the years.
Nice interview. I appreciate when people explain how they became successful. Thanks again for sharing.
It’s always interesting when people lay out their earnings for you like this. I definitely enjoyed this interview, and am confident many people can learn and be inspired by people like David Risley.
Love these podcasts of your Yaro! Keep ’em coming!
Brilliant. I love things like this. Always interesting to learn how other people make money online. I have been really looking into membership sites so is really useful. Thanks.
I’m really enjoying this Podcast series. Keep the interviews coming. 🙂
I discovered David’s blog a couple of months ago and make it part of my daily blog reading routine.
He has a lot of great informative posts which get right to the point which I like. Plus, his use of video has inspired me to incorporate it into my own blog in the next couple of months.
Another great interview, Yaro!

This should inspire me but I know I’m just way too lazy to actually develop a product and sell it.
This is a great interview, and its very inspiring. Thanks for sharing it
This is a very informative and educative interview. Yaro, thanks for giving us such great opportunities to discover the ways on how other bloggers achieved the better results that we did. David Risley is a perfect example to follow. He inspires me on great deeds!!!
The interview was really great and I am happy that I got to know about the articles of David. Now I am one of the follower of him 🙂
Great blog and site David! Very motivational interview. Its good to kow that there is light at the end of tunnel. Developing multiple income streams seems so simple but I had never thought of it. Got me to open up to some new ideas!
I recently started reading the biographies of those who earn a decent living online as this is a topic that really intrigues me. Glad you have plenty to share, Yaro. I have plenty to read.
In addition to all the steps David uses in his success, his blog layout / design plays an important role – it is easy to navigate and his writing style is inviting.
Now david focus on blogmarketing academy + his membership site, in 2012.
